Fulham fans with intriguing comments ahead of facing Newcastle United at Craven Cottage

7 Nov 2026 - 13:06

Fulham fans have been commenting ahead of this Newcastle United match.

A win for the home side at Craven Cottage would see them go above United.

Whilst a victory for Matthias Jaissle’s side could see them potentially ass high as top eight after the weekend depending on other results

Fulham fans comment via their Friends of Fulham and Fulham Web message boards:

‘I saw this about Newcastle “they have scored just once from their past 47 shots in all competitions.” which always worries me!!!’

‘A situation that is almost certain to produce a worldie or a horrible deflected goal. We have been there so often.’

‘Hell, we’ve only scored once from our past 40 shots in all competitions!’

‘This really needs to be a win by multiple goals. We’re at home against a struggling team with a manager under fire, and who have had two fewer rest days than us plus have a player suspended.

We really need to prove we can win games convincingly and put the ball in the net when opportunities come our way.’

‘We are both struggling teams whether we like that or not. Neither team has shown any cutting edge this season so I am predicting a 0-0 draw.

I certainly don’t think we will lose this one. If (and it’s a big if) we get our shooting boots on then a win may a good margin is a distinct possibility.’

‘Of course we will beat Newcastle.’

‘4-0’

‘This is the time when we should beat them. If you look at their results so far this season the standout loss is 4-1 to Coventry.’

‘Half the teams in the Premier League have not got decent strikers, so hoping to get one in January is a remote chance.’

‘Seeing West Ham in that league is a reminder of how things could go wrong. Let’s hope we stay clear. The prem is where we want to be.’

‘That’s what happens when fans have unrealistic expectations of what there clubs can achieve. Moyes won them a euro trophy and still they weren’t happy but I wish spurs had gone down instead of them.’

‘Not that anyone will be really interested, but at one time in my younger days, my neighbour in Worcester Park in Surrey was Charlie Mitten, who was a lovely man. I have a feeling that Bobby Robson moved into the same house when Charlie moved.’

‘Newcastle lost 1-0 at home to Everton and it should have been by a lot more.’

‘I can’t see anything other than the same XI that started against Villa with Sess coming in on the bench for Angel and 3 points for Fulham if we finally become clinical.

That’s a big IF’

‘Don’t change what’s working.’

‘It’s only kinda working though..’

‘Is it working?

I am not saying it isn’t working but we are toothless and the opposition only needs to get one and the chances of us winning are almost zero.’

‘From my point of view when we say a team is toothless it means they are not creating chances, for me we are wasteful which could just be down to confidence. Same team and any kind of win would do for me because the higher we climb the table the more confidence we will gain. Regarding Rob Jones we have an awful record with him in charge 4 wins from 19 games but he was in charge against Newcastle at home last season.’

‘Can’t agree with anyone being worse than Kavanagh. I’ve gone from being angry at his decisions to feeling sorry for him. I really don’t believe there is malice in his decision-making, just shocking incompetence. That cup game involving Spurs when there was a clear handball .. he gave it outside the box when it was obviously a whole two yards inside. (No VAR and Spuds scored from free kick so did not impact the game.) It was an incomprehensible decision, absolutely impossible .. that made me think something goes horribly wrong, maybe something he can’t control, when he’s under pressure.’

‘Newcastle have some very good players, so whilst they looked disjointed on Monday night, clicking into gear can’t be too far away. Any hint of complacency from our lads and they will get a result.’

‘We’re struggling to score but other than that we’re unbeaten in three PL games and only lost one in seven.’

‘Am slightly worried about defending set pieces given Newcastle’s massive central defenders, pick from Burn, Scharr, Thaew, Bottman.’

‘Need to stick with an unchanged team. Playing some good football at the minute and fancy us to beat Newcastle.’

‘Wissa , Elanga and Barnes are seriously dangerous on the counter attack if Bassey goes walkies up the pitch we are in big trouble . We need to nulify the space to stop the balls over the top’
