Nile Ranger exits his latest club

27 Jan 2026 - 10:53

Nile Ranger is without a club once again.

Back in October 2025, seventh tier Kettering Town announced that the former Newcastle United player: “Has left the Club with immediate effect by mutual consent.”

On social media, Nile Ranger appeared to contradict that version of events, the leaving by ‘mutual consent’, but he then found a new club.

The striker moving down yet another level, joining eighth tier Wellingborough Town.

At the time, Wellingborough Town announced: “Everyone at the club is excited to have Nile on-board and are looking forward to utilising his experience and pedigree. Welcome Nile!”

However, Nile Ranger is now no longer at the Northern Premier League (Midland Division) club.

Wellingborough Town announcing: “Nile Ranger leaves Wellingborough Town after the conclusion of his short term deal with the club. We would like to put on record our thanks to Nile for his hard work and commitment on the pitch in that period, as well as his engagement off the pitch, particularly with our youth section and young supporters. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours in and outside of football. He will always be welcome down the Dog and Duck in the future.”

Where next for Nile Ranger?

He turns 35 in April and so his ‘career’ is in the latter stages.

His clubs (so far) where he has played first team football are: Newcastle United, Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday, Swindon Town, Blackpool, Southend United, Spalding United, Boreham Wood, Kettering Town, Wellingborough Town.

You may (or may not) be surprised to hear that Newcastle United remains the club that Nile Ranger has made the most first team appearances for, the then young striker made 51 first team appearances for NUFC and scored two goals.

Interesting to see where he turns up next..
