6 Nov 2026 - 18:04

The 2026 Wor Jackie Trophy has been presented to Anthony Munda.

A Sport Newcastle dinner on Thursday night seeing the exciting Newcastle United talent recognised.

The Wor Jackie Trophy honours the late, great former Magpies forward Jackie Milburn and every year a rising NUFC star is presented with it.

The previous winners include the likes of Elliot Anderson, Lewis Miley, Sean Longstaff, Andy Carroll, Peter Ramage, Freddie Woodman and Adam Armstrong, as well as…Nile Ranger.

Last year it was teenage striker Sean Neave who picked up the Wor Jackie Trophy.

Anthony Munda completed a season-long loan move to Swindon Town back in August to get first team football and progress his burgeoning career.

An official club announcement at the time stating: ‘Newcastle United midfielder Anthony Munda has joined League Two club Swindon Town on loan for the 2026/27 season. Anthony joined United’s Academy in 2012 aged nine and has featured regularly for the club’s Under-21 side in recent years. While progressing through the youth ranks at the Magpies, he made his FA Youth Cup debut aged 15, featuring in the third round tie against Charlton Athletic in December 2022. Anthony Munda made his Premier League 2 bow aged 16 during an away clash against Blackburn Rovers in January 2024 before scoring on his second start at under-21 level, an impressive stoppage-time leveller against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Everybody at Newcastle United would like to wish Anthony all the best for the season ahead.’
