What the Premier League table tells us as we now head into November internationals
Looking at this Premier League table now on Sunday night.
The five matches having played out today.
That completes the tenth round of Premier League games, with one having been staged on Friday night then four on Saturday.
We are now more than a quarter into the season.
So what conclusions can we draw from how the Premier League table looks at this point?
These are the results from this weekend:
Friday 6 November
Everton 3 Coventry 1
Saturday 7 November
Leeds 1 Tottenham 0
Arsenal 1 Hull 0
Fulham 1 Newcastle United 1
Forest 3 Man City 1
Sunday 7 November
Brighton 2 Brentford 0
Palace 1 Liverpool 3
Ipswich 1 Bournemouth 2
Sunderland 1 Chelsea 0
Man U 4 Aston Villa 4
Which gives us this Premier League table on the evening of Sunday 8 November 2026
Conclusions
The three best Premier League teams have been Arsenal, Brighton and Manchester City. One of those three will win the title, that trio picking up 70 points between them.
The three worst Premier League teams have been Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Manchester United. That trio picking up only 23 points between them but will all three be relegated?
I think those three are all in danger of the drop in a 2026-27 Premier League season where there appears to be so little between so many teams. Only the top three have won more than half of their ten matches, whilst 15 teams have failed to win the majority of their games.
The three promoted clubs are all having a real go this season and have picked up 31 points between them but now just past the quarter-point of the season, all three of them are in the bottom eight.
With Newcastle United, Matthias Jaissle and his team find themselves on 12 points from 10 games in 12th place, four points above the relegation zone and four points off top six. Wins against Everton and Fulham this week would have seen NUFC now fifth top.
Interesting to see if all 20 Premier League managers are still in their jobs after the November internationals.
