Absolute class from Alan Shearer as he attacks Mike Ashley for treatment of fans and Rafa Benitez
Alan Shearer is in top form on Monday morning.
Whilst the likes of Dennis Wise and Steve Harmison spoke out last week in defence of Mike Ashley and against Rafa Benitez.
The Newcastle United legend, as usual, knows the score.
Alan Shearer declaring ‘What the hell is going on at Newcastle United Football Club?’
As he points out, all we have heard from Mike Ashley is that he has put season ticket prices up yet again, whilst the majority of others are freezing prices once more, as well as launching the new home kit which research from The Times showed the NUFC club shop was charging more for the new design than any other Premier League was for theirs.
Shearer questions: ‘Why can’t anyone come out and say what the situation is with Rafa Benitez, as well as the proposed takeover, instead of just saying ‘no comment’? Where is the respect for the thousands and thousands of loyal fans?’
Obviously they are rhetorical questions because we all know the answer, it is all down to Mike Ashley and as well all know after 12 years, he has utter contempt for all Newcastle fans, particularly Alan Shearer!
Earlier today George Caulkin stated that Newcastle are now looking for a new manager after Rafa Benitez refused to sign a new one year contract, the Spaniard refusing to sign as he doesn’t trust Mike Ashley and the contract offered none of the key things he was asking for to progress the club.
What a mess and as usual, all self-inflicted.
All that remains seemingly in terms of hope, is of Mike Ashley at last agreeing to a takeover. However, after initial optimism, we are told that whilst at least three bidders want to buy the club, no deal is imminent.
Alan Shearer talking to The Sun:
‘What the hell is going on at Newcastle United Football Club?
It looks complete and utter chaos and the lack of communication from the club is embarrassingly bad.
Their world-class manager can walk away in a week’s time for nothing.
But the only thing official we have heard from the club this summer is, ‘We are putting season ticket prices up five per cent’ and ‘This is our new home kit’.
Why can’t anyone come out and say what the situation is with Rafa Benitez, as well as the proposed takeover, instead of just saying ‘no comment’?
Where is the respect for the thousands and thousands of loyal fans?
There is not a jot of thought for them even though they are the lifeblood of that football club.’
