Why Newcastle have caught Spurs at the perfect time – Video Special

If you are Alan Pardew then you will be thinking that you have Spurs just where you want them.

Not a great start to the season and those cockney fools (not Pardew and Ashley) have had a massive burden of that Europa League on Thursday night.

As our manager put it at the time in the aftermath of almost reaching the semi finals of that European competition;

“Thank God we are not in Europe next season.”

Spurs smashed Asteras Tripolis 5-1 at White Hart Lane, young Tottenham star Harry Kane scoring a hat-trick (please note young Newcastle ‘stars’ – at the age of 21 Kane has played well over a hundred first team matches and scored 29 goals).

The scorer of the other two goals was big money young signing (still only 22) Erik Lamela who is still finding his feet.

Well he certainly found them last night and scored an absolute wonder goal.

I have a horrible feeling that this Europa League match was just what Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino (loved his comment on lack of celebration on Lamela goal – ‘I only show emotion at home – and in my bed’!) and his team needed.

Meanwhile in his St.James’ Park bunker Alan Pardew will be telling his troops that Spurs have fallen right into his cunning trap, wearing the players out in meaningless European adventures rather than trying to simply survive in the Premier League etc etc.

Watch Lamela’s beauty below (thanks to GwladysStreet2 for the footage) and his manager’s reaction – priceless! (Don’t like seeing ANY team other than Newcastle doing well but moments of brilliance like this have to be acknowledged)
