Surprising fans’ choice of Newcastle starting 11 v QPR

Thanks to everybody who contributed to the votes for the fans’ choice of Newcastle starting 11 v QPR.

Thought this time it was very informative in terms of how fans see the best choice of team to face the current challenges at St.James’ Park.

Siem De Jong, Rolando Aarons, Fabricio Coloccini, Cheick Tiote, Mehdi Abeid, Gabriel Obertan and Davide Santon all appear to have no chance of playing, so were left out of the possible candidates.

While despite Alan Pardew appearing to give Steven Taylor a chance of playing tomorrow, overall he seemed to be talking about his team having Dummett and Williamson in the middle. A real contrast to our recent (pre-injury info) poll where we asked you [intlink id=”50461″ type=”post”]which 2 centre-backs should play against QPR[/intlink].

Maybe the most surprising choice was to have so many supporters choosing Ayoze Perez over Papiss Cisse, while the Senegal’s late arrival back from international duty will have played a part in the voting, it is quite clear that after three match winners the fans feel Perez should keep the shirt.

Dummett has also got a massive thumbs up for the job he has done, while other younger players like Haidara and Sammy Ameobi also score highly.

At the other end of the spectrum, more experienced players such as Riviere, Gouffran and Anita who would have previously been seen as certainties, especially with all these injuries – are literally nowhere near in the fans’ thoughts.

As for the mystery loan signing Facundo Ferreyra, the mind boggles as to exactly what he is doing at Newcastle United.
