Pardew finally signs off from Newcastle United
Alan Pardew has at last signed off from Newcastle United after protracted negotiations in recent days.
Despite not having officially taken over, Pardew was at Crystal Palace’s goalless draw with Aston Villa on Thursday.
The former United manager also said to have overseen training on Friday in advance of the South London club’s FA Cup tie against Dover.
However, BBC Sport have now reported that their information is that Alan Pardew signed his contract with Crystal Palace on Friday night, with the club set to formally announce the appointment today.
Compensation between the two clubs is claimed to be as high as £3.5m, with reports that Mike Ashley was demanding further money to allow goalkeeping coach Andy Woodman and Ben Stevens, head of performance analysis, to follow Pardew to Palace.
Whether those appointments will also be announced today by Crystal Palace remains to be seen.
