What were your Newcastle v QPR player ratings?

Interesting to get an outside perspective and the industry leader for an independent viewpoint is the whoscored rating system (used by numerous sections of the football industry; including media, bookmakers and clubs themselves).Over 200 raw statistics are used to calculate the player ratings and are weighted according to influence in the game – taking into account the area of the pitch and its outcome for each important event.

The marks overall meant that Newcastle players on average rated 7.13, compared to QPR’s of 6.90 – the small gap between overall ratings showing it was a hard fought encounter with just that one quality strike separating the teams.

Sammy Ameobi took the top rating just ahead of Moussa Sissoko, the two combining for that winning goal.

In the absence of players such as Aaron and Obertan in wide positions, Ameobi stepped it up whereas I think Cabella is a bit fortunate to get a mark as high as 7.5.

8.5 Ameobi

8.2 Sissoko

7.5 Cabella

7.4 Haidara

7.4 Williamson

7.1 Perez

7.0 Colback

6.8 Ryan Taylor

6.7 Gouffran (Sub)
