Newcastle United release statement on Papiss Cisse charge for violent conduct

In a brief statement, Newcastle United have confirmed that Papiss Cisse has retrospectively been charged with violent conduct.

The charge relates to an incident during the Newcastle v Everton match when the Newcastle striker and Everton defender Seamus Coleman were waiting for a set-piece to be taken.

Hypocrite Roberto Martinez went on at length about how bad the incident was after the match, totally forgetting his own disgraceful behaviour when Callum McManaman assaulted Massadio Haidara.

Newcastle United statement;

‘Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse has been charged with violent conduct following an incident in the Premier League fixture against Everton.

Cisse was involved in an incident involving Everton’s Seamus Coleman during the 3-2 victory at St. James’ Park on Sunday 28 December.

Cisse has until 6pm on Tuesday (December 30) to respond to the charge.’

While Papiss Cisse looks sure to be hit with some kind of a ban, the fact he is imminently due to fly off to the African Cup of Nations preparations with Senegal softens the blow.
