What were your Burnley v Newcastle player ratings?

Interesting to get an outside perspective and the industry leader for an independent viewpoint is the whoscored rating system (used by numerous sections of the football industry; including media, bookmakers and clubs themselves).Over 200 raw statistics are used to calculate the player ratings and are weighted according to influence in the game – taking into account the area of the pitch and its outcome for each important event.

The marks overall of the Burnley v Newcastle player ratings meant that United players on average rated 6.79, compared to Burnley’s 6.77, it kind of neatly sums the match up with a draw about right.

Interesting to see though that United’s top two performers were defenders (Janmaat and Dummett), while two of Burnley’s top three (Boyd and Ings) were attacking players.

Abeid and Tiote get creditable marks holding the centre of midfield together in an average kind of way.

However, while Alan Pardew is right in claiming that things improved in the second half, Remy Cabella did alright but still struggles to really impose himself and actually creat anything of substance – his rating of 6.6 (same as Gouffran!) is about right.
