There were some decent performances from United and they were unlucky to lose, though probably didn’t deserve to take all three points. Who stood out for you, which player did most for the Newcastle United cause?
Whether this is laying the law down or just stating common sense, judge for yourself. Watch Alan Pardew (with ever increasing beard) deliver this update on both Yohan Cabaye and Hatem Ben Arfa.
Let’s all please take as many positives in terms of improvement from Wednesday as we can and support the team on Monday. No boos, just the fantastic support we all know our fans are capable of.
In first place with 43% of the vote was Hatem Ben Arfa, he came alive in a twenty minute spell in the second half which almost pulled United unexpectedly back into the match.
At least Ben Arfa came alive in a 15 minute spell and if Cisse had shown his usual deadly accuracy when he twice hit the woodwork then we might have got an unlikely route back into the game.
I think actually by the end Newcastle might even have had as many chances as the home team but that is all a bit immaterial when your first opportunity doesn’t appear until you are four down!
The same bloke made a lazy comment about, “Newcastle fans are leaving already”, which was probably only to get in the queue for a half-time pint (of whisky probably).
A few people around me were blaming the same players and tactics that have got Newcastle where they are at this moment in time, three points lost – that is all. Keep calm and carry on.
Alan Pardew will have drilled into the team not to be complacent, after that we only need a normal run of luck. Exciting times and not a single player who isn’t earning his money on the pitch. Enjoy.
