Wallsend Boys Club played their part at the Hong Kong Sevens ‘Masters’ event, and just as valuable, the spreading of the word by coaching local children.
The compilation of the book has been a true labour of love for Michael McGill and Vince Carrick (Michael Carrick’s father), who researched the rich heritage and history of the Club since it comprised of a series of wooden huts in 1938.
These other areas of their work may not get a fraction of the publicity the football side does, but arguably this is even more important, in that it helps the young people of Tyneside to get a better range of opportunities and to develop into the citizens of tomorrow.
