Wonga have targeted Newcastle for a specific reason. They want to raise the awareness of their business within our region and want to use our club as a way of raising their profile over Europe.
We now want to gauge public opinion in terms of how fans see the whole package and so is it positive news overall that Wonga will be on the shirts AND the name St.James’ Park restored.
Very surprising news that the deal has ended which was reported to be worth £10m a season, could there be a new deal in the offing including renaming the ground….?
