I didn’t actually see Mike Ashley though I did hear his helicopter, so obviously I’m not privy to what was said between manager and owner. However, following his meeting with Ashley and Llambias, Alan Pardew did come over to say hello/shake hands when he saw me chatting with our departing goalkeeper.
Maybe more than most Cheick Tiote has suffered from not having any continuity this season and getting into a playing rhythm, the player though isn’t hiding from this season and is determined to put it right.
A massive two thirds (63%) said that top six would equal success for the club in the coming season, a further 30% felt top half would equal another successful season, maybe bearing in mind the Europa League.
Alan Pardew has already said that with the added challenge of the Europa league, finishing fifth again will be impossible. Is he just calming everybody down or is it unrealistic to aim to stay up there?
