Steve McClaren, Graham Carr, Lee Charnley, Mike Ashley, Peter Beardsley, Dave Watson, Paul Simpson, Ian Cathro…none of you are part of the solution at Newcastle United, you are all part of the problem.
Newcastle United, well known as a club of the people yet they have only had ten players pass through the academy doors then develop into a player who can earn ten league appearances in one season. I am left thinking, is there even a point in us having an academy?
When I hear other fans say stuff along the lines of ‘why are you complaining, get behind the club, there’s still weeks/hours/minutes left and so on’, I say to them – how can you have blind faith that the invisible magic pixies/elves at St.James’ Park are going to make everything alright, when they can’t get basic stuff like the Academy right?
The simple fact is that Newcastle United’s Academy was found to be not as good as the twenty clubs listed above and the more telling result that we can see with our own eyes is that the Academy is failing miserably in producing players good enough to play in the Premier League.
