I read a quote before the game which I thought was apt. Some lad called Albert Einstein once said: ‘The definition of insanity, is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results’. Pardew may as well get that tattooed on his face.
Newcastle ended that 83/84 season only in third but what a year it was, to me it summed up what being a Newcastle fan is all about. We might not have won anything but we watched some brilliant football.
Well, the manager and each of his players in turn have all told us how hard they are working in training. I bet that has the rest quaking in their boots, obviously they’ll have all been lying around in hammocks all summer, drinking cocktails.
Obviously the Sheikh isn’t there personally knocking up pints and warming up the pies, instead there is another radical idea they have embraced; bringing in a professional team to run the club off the pitch.
Surely that’s cheating? Shouldn’t all clubs be run like Newcastle to give us a level playing field.
