Just like every other north east institution, whether it is the councils, universities, other businesses, or indeed our very own football club, I think they all do have a massive duty of care to wherever possible help create and sustain jobs in our region.

I don’t think there are many better places to be than Newcastle city centre on a match day. Almost unique in the Premier League, I’m just so grateful that Sir John Hall’s plans to move out of St.James’ Park to Newburn or Gateshead never got off the ground.
