Most of us know unless Mike Ashley drastically changes his running of the club (or sells), only a matter before the likes of Janmaat and Perez also leave.
The last time we finished in the top 6 we took 4 points off Liverpool that season and if we think, act and play like we are going to do it again then Liverpool might be in trouble. Sing the lads to victory, sing “The Ballad of Yoan and Sissoko”, sing “Cabaye Me Love”, sing “Debuchy In The Sky With Diamonds”, together “Oui Can Work It Out.”
For round figures they brought in around £90m or so in transfer fees. It’s an interesting mix of players and I think overall we’ve ended up with a stronger first eleven (when fit) but would you swap our current first eleven for this lot?
A journalist told me at the start of the season that it was easier to write about Newcastle when making headlines for the wrong reasons. Perhaps now the task is just as easy writing about the club for the right ones.
Very little can beat a match day when the circus/pantomime rides into town and up to St.James’ Park. Against Liverpool we were spoilt for choice as the pantomime baddies lined up to take the applause…
Jose Enrique looked a lonely figure when he pulled on the keeper’s shirt after Reina’s departure, what about the night though when Newcastle used three goalkeepers and let in eight!

Enrique left because Mike Ashley didn’t share his ambitions for Newcastle.
He is a class player who I loved to watch, never gave less than 100% and was more than happy to stay and help deal with the fallout of relegation. What is there not to like and respect?
