News today of Nile Ranger arrested again actually during his rape trial at Newcastle, the player failing to appear in Wales on a separate charge.

Yesterday (Thursday), seven of those involved in disturbances on the day have been sentenced and not one of them had been to the match. This is not to diminish what happened on the day but points to it being much more of a public disorder/society problem, rather than a football problem.

What a week though to (not!) be around Cheick. On 27th October Newcastle play the mackems at their place and the next day his scheduled three day trial is due to start .
