I’ve heard it said by some ex Newcastle players that Gary Speed was the real captain in the dressing room at NUFC, which I can fully believe.
There was a signing that didn’t exactly slip under the radar but perhaps didn’t get the coverage it deserved. Well it certainly should now.
John Carver has said that Newcastle need a Captain who is a leader, somebody who can run the dressing room and lead by example.
John Carver has declared that Fabricio Coloccini is a great captain and a great leader.
Nobby Solano believes that Fabricio Coloccini has shown great captaincy both on the pitch and behind the scenes.
Has Alan Pardew now started taking note of what Newcastle fans are saying, or are his comments on Colocciini’s captaincy pure coincidence?
He might not be top of the pile but it is a reminder of Yohan Cabaye’s popularity back home, despite the indifferent season he has just experienced (and of course the fact that he hasn’t stayed behind in Ligue 1).
Alan Pardew, “Regardless of Shola Ameobi playing or not, it is time for Steven to step up”.
The workrate of Jonas is an example to any professional player but is he your kind of captain material?
I wouldn’t mind jumping in the Tardis and seeing what Joe Harvey would have made of Jonas doing his hair!!
