It is no coincidence that the sentencing has been timed for only a few days before the first derby match since those embarrassing post-match scenes were flashed around the world in April.
Clearly a message is being sent out that anybody thinking of getting involved in any trouble on Sunday will face the possibility of similar repercussions.
