The reality is though that this victory probably came down to the contribution of three players; Coloccini and Tim Krul held our team together as best they could and made some outstanding saves and blocks, the other player being Yakubu who got himself suspended so Blackburn had nobody to stick it in the net!

I’m just at a loss to understand how we have a situation whereby Cabaye gets such punishment yet really dangerous tackles, or in the case of De Jong on Ben Arfa, ones that end up causing career threatening injury, go relatively unpunished. I think the trouble is we have cowards in positions of authority.
I think the most distasteful aspect is the role of the TV companies, in this case ESPN, we know they now draw up the fixture schedule and change it at a moment’s notice but are they now the judge and jury on disciplinary matters as well?
