Rumours have now surfaced that a deal is allegedly in the offing for Newcastle to pay over £6m for Montpellier defender, Yanga M’Biwa. Aged 22 but with already well over 150 appearance for the French club, M’Biwa is a powerful central defender who can also play right across the back line.
Alan Pardew has gone out of his way to say Cissé has been his choice, the man he has wanted since Carroll left, he has never said the same about Demba Ba. Ba, who has been superb but sadly his time here is surely going to be temporary.
I reckon it would be a pretty startling, but welcome, statistic if United went into the 2012/13 Premier League season with Captain Coloccini at the ripe old age of 30, out on his own as the voice of experience in the Newcastle dressing room.
Pardew has erred on the side of caution considering our captain’s importance to the team, so James Perch is therefore the only change as Alan Pardew has kept his stated commitment to play a full strength team.
Go to it boys and make sure we are in that fifth round draw.
Alan Pardew will only play Colo if he thinks his groin injury is ok, while also revealing something about the player’s character in that Coloccini himself is happy to put himself on the pitch whatever the risk of further injury and has already done it this season.
