How does ‘Sir Michael Ashley’ sound to you, can the owner of Newcastle United prove everybody wrong and his team win through to Champions League?

As an optimist I would like to think we have a 20 per cent plus deal in place which could turn into a handy few million towards our transfer fund, or even Joe Kinnear’s severance pay if we were lucky.

Here’s my solution: we sell Marveaux, Obertan (a no brainer), Steven Taylor, Cisse and Santon. I don’t feel that the first 2 will make an impact at Newcastle, Taylor should be sacrificed for someone a class better, and Cisse looks like a beaten man and needs a fresh challenge.

Ok, some of his tactics may not always be the best but then who doesn’t make mistakes. They would likely be a lot less costly if the team was equipped with some of the quality signings no doubt Pardew has been desperate for. If Pardew by some remote chance does get the support he deserves maybe we should judge him on that.
