The 6 Newcastle United players that can take NUFC forward…in the forward positions
It has been tough for many Newcastle United players this season.
So many factors.
Newcastle United players that are new to the club and in so many cases, new to the country and the Premier League.
Throw in the fact United have experienced more injuries this season than any other Premier League club and it adds another level.
It has been a tough watch at times for us as fans but I think as the season goes on, we can see a much better team and season develop.
There has been no continuity, largely down to the injuries, plus of course a manager still finding his feet after arriving only 18 days before the season started and a squad of Newcastle United players that didn’t get a proper run together in pre-season.
My belief is that as the season develops these six Newcastle United players can take NUFC forward, in the forward positions…of midfield and attack:
20 Lewis Miley
18 Sean Steur
24 Nico Gonzalez
20 Bazoumana Toure
21 Matias Fernandez-Pardo
23 William Osula
An average of only 21 for this half dozen and Matthias Jaissle has been trying his best to protect the likes of Steur, Toure and MFP.
Osula and Miley have missed so many matches through injury this season and Lewis Miley ending up playing right-back when he has played usually!
Nico Gonzalez is still bedding in and used to playing every match, rarely with the same teammates in midfield!
With time I think MFP and Toure can be big assets.
I will revisit this later in the season as to how this six have got on…
