Atlanta United release official statement after losing President to Newcastle United

Atlanta United have reacted to losing their President.

Friday night seeing Newcastle United announce that Darren Eales had been appointed as the new CEO at St James’ Park.

Atlanta United have revealed that Darren Eales will leave his post as President of the club on 8 August 2022 and then start his job at Newcastle on 22 August 2022.

Eales has previous experience of working with Newcastle United sporting director Dan Ashworth, as the duo worked together at West Brom.

Whilst disappointed to lose him, Atlanta United have given the departing Darren Eales glowing references and wished him all the best with NUFC.

Darren Eales Tapped to Lead EPL’s Newcastle United; Will Depart Atlanta United in August

ATLANTA – Darren Eales, who has led Atlanta United since its inception, will be leaving the club to lead Newcastle United of the English Premier League as CEO beginning August 22.
