Manchester City fans with classic comments ahead of Newcastle United match – You have to laugh
Manchester City fans are not in the best of moods.
Less than three weeks ago they lost to Liverpool in their FA Cup semi-final, then Wednesday night saw them bow out of the Champions League in a thrilling (for the rest of us!) finale.
Now the mighty Newcastle United stand in their way.
It is hilarious how so many Manchester City fans are expecting the worst, when up against a side that they have defeated the last twelve times in the Premier League at the Etihad.
As panic sets in, even more bizarre when it comes to some of their desperate claims.
Some Manchester City fans claiming that that Newcastle United will try a lot harder because it is them and not Liverpool, referencing last weekend’s game at St James Park.
Newcastle may have lost 1-0 but I didn’t see any lack of effort…whilst Manchester City fans must have VERY short memories when they can’t even recall the last time NUFC lost at home in the Premier League before that loss to Liverpool, a certain 4-0 home defeat to….Manchester City!
As for those short memories, you have to really laugh at the doom and gloom amongst so many Manchester City fans, the trouble is that they are so used to winning week after week, they have no sense of perspective when they lose the (very!) odd match.
Manchester City fans commenting via their Blue Moon message board:
‘Lose against Newcastle and the season is over…that would be unthinkable.’
‘And heads should roll.’
‘Just praying it doesn’t all fall apart now
I’ve got faith they’ll pull it back round again for Sunday.’
‘We don’t need a thread about Etihad atmosphere no excuses just sing your hearts out and push them threw on Sunday, this is going to be tough.’
‘Newcastle should be very worried.
We may have lost the CL- Again, but this premier league is the only thing left to concentrate on. 3-0 city.’
‘I hope our players are more up for it than some of our bed wetting ‘fans’. Get behind the lads and support them or get out of here with your negativety.
City to smash Newcastle 4-1.’
‘I fear the worst after what has just happened.’
‘Unless you expect to win it every year then we have to accept some years we won’t.This might be one hopefully it’s not.’
‘I’m confident that Spurs will roll over against Liverpool and Newcastle will magically recover from their worst performance of the Howe era when they played the scousers.
We’re everyone’s cup final, it seems.’
‘Newcastle were awful against Liverpool, but as ever the opposition will actually put in some effort against us.’
‘Trippier and Wilson back fit. Typical’
‘Good. We can get down the left when Trippier bombs forward and possibly Newcastle will have a go instead of parking the bus.’
‘Need to see what our support is made of on Sunday. The team is going to need a lift, and we have to be the ones to give it to them.’
‘Our support isn’t what it used to be if we’re not loud on Sunday. There shouldn’t be an empty seat in sight either, this is the biggest game of the season.’
‘We are going to miss Walker big time for this, Saint Maximin can be a handful on his day. I’d say Walker season is over which is a double whammy from last night. Cancelo is shocking at right back.’
‘This has to be payback time for ’55 – again! An emphatic win, despite the RDAHMeedya fawning over Eddie and probably supping bottles of pukie brown in the studio!’
‘I expect a performance. Newcastle have a threat or two and Howe has organized them into a decent mid table unit, but if you can’t beat that at home when the title is on the line, then, sadly, you don’t deserve it.’
‘We outplayed Madrid over 180 minutes, and then tooled it in in 10 minutes of lunacy. Fortunately, Newcastle are not Madrid and I do not expect any slip ups on Sunday.’
‘If we do somehow manage to throw this title away it will be the most disappointing season we have had since Shinawatra took over. It will be unacceptable.’
‘Loads of tickets now up for sale. Day before yesterday there were 1 or 2 that kept popping up. Are people really swerving this now because of last night?!’
‘The horse punchers are going to get hammered.’
‘Hopefully the players get a load of support from us. I expect they will.’
‘This will be a horrible game where we’ll play like a broken team and Newcastle will have moments of joy.’
‘I’m broken. Just hope the players have got more about them than me.’
‘Newcastle will put in a much bigger fight than vs Liverpool, I am sure of it.’
