Say NAH to VAR

VAR is pathetic and biased and has been introduced to benefit the elite clubs.

I have said this all along.

Clubs / team who by personnel, privilege and therefore decree, will always gain more.

Only this Saturday…

Leeds have been robbed by Chelsea.

Villa getting the worse of decisions at both ends of the pitch in their defeat at Anfield.

Add to that Manchester City’s win against 10 man Wolves.

All dodgy penalty decisions that favoured the so-called big boys within the EPL cartel.

I didn’t even mention Man Utd’s Ronaldo going down after a tickle at Carrow Road, did I?

Within a short period of time, all spontaneity from a fan’s perspective has been eradicated. The excitement has been taken away from the game as we await the call of a few middle-aged blokes sitting in a cosy office.

I hope some of horrible Fergie’s spoilt brat brigade like Keane and Neville are well happy now, after they harangued and crowded Andy D’Urso all of those years ago after he awarded Middlesbrough a stonewaller, that was eventually missed due to the delay. These two will no doubt be the most vociferous about VAR in the next few days.

I never wanted it in the first place and always argued that goal-line technology was more than enough.

Although I hate playing the victim, I also believe Newcastle United have been unjustly treat….and not just this season.

VAR to me is the footballing equivalent to George Orwell’s “Big Brother”, ultimately and exclusively designed to keep the little fella on the outside….and down in his place.

With the advent of Murdoch’s Sky and the Qatari sportswash over the last two decades, we should have all known what was going to happen.

I have just once again heard that now well coined phrase: “This is why the Premier League is the most popular and exciting in World Football” used by one of the regular commentators on the gravy train.

Well pull the other one pal because it’s got bells on it. Do you think we are all stupid?

VAR is about as palatable to me as Nora Batty in suspenders…..and has no place in what used to be known as the working man’s game.
