When analysing the info above, the Premier League form table is full of surprises.

For those who say that Eddie Howe hasn’t improved the Newcastle team so far, as fans we know that is patently untrue.

We have seen some far better football and encouraging signs, with certain players looking far better than under Steve Bruce.

The performances have been better but sadly individual mistakes and incidents like Clark’s red card against Norwich and Maddison successfully cheating and winning that penalty on Sunday, have seen key moments go against the new Head Coach.

As the Premier League form table shows as well, results HAVE improved as well, just not to the level needed, so far. Four points from the opening ten Premier League matches has been followed by six points from the last six.

As this Premier League form table shows above, Newcastle are actually mid-table when it comes to results in these last half dozen matches.

Looking at the bigger picture and further ahead, there are massive extremes when you consider the next eight matches.

Liverpool and Man City are of course the top two in this Premier League form table, then NUFC face a Man Utd team with sixth best form.

However, the five games that then follow are against clubs in the bottom five when it comes to recent form, Newcastle end the year with Everton away, then Southampton away, Watford home, Leeds away and Everton home. Those five matches could be key to survival hopes.
