‘Eddie Howe has already made Newcastle United £30m’

Considering the shambles that Eddie Howe inherited and the short time he has had to put his stamp on things, I think there are reasons to be optimistic.

Even at this stage of the Premier League season, 14 games in.

Eddie Howe has got the team considerably fitter in a short period of time.

Unfortunately though, dropping points due to poor goalkeeping and poor defence,

Both of which have been put right in my opinion, prior to the Burnley game.

Maybe the most striking thing though is that Eddie Howe has already made Newcastle United £30m, or saved £30m, whichever way you want to look at it.

This short-term £30m miracle he has achieved, is to turn two deadweight players into a pair of legitimate fifteen million pound premiership performers.

If you had told me prior to Eddie Howe arriving, that Joelinton and Shelvey would be automatic first team picks and no need to look for replacements in January, I would of instantly checked to see if it was a Steve Bruce press release.

If the man can get us to play 90 minutes and save £30m in three weeks, given he has another couple of weeks on the training ground prior to this kiss of death December fixture list, who knows, 18 points by January 1st may be possible.

If you think it’s a pipedream, may I refer you back to the comments above on improved fitness in such a short space of time and how we are able to look forward to a better defensive set up now for Burnley and beyond.
