When are Sky Sports News going to stop doing this with Steve Bruce?
Yes Steve Bruce is a nice man.
Yes his 1000 game achievement is special.
However…come on, his record, his style of play and tactics at Newcastle have been rubbish.
So, when are Sky Sports News going to stop protecting Steve Bruce?
Why don’t you review his stats live on Sky Sports News?
Don’t just bang on about finishing 12th or 13th in the table.
Look at percentage wins, goals for, goals against, poor team selection and poor substitutions etc across his entire 27 months at St James Park.
Look at Bruce’s record with other clubs, what he has won as a manager not a player. You might then understand Newcastle fans.
Also, Steve’s abuse / criticism is not just from Newcastle fans, Sunderland and Villa fans agree and have said the same things. They went through the same with Bruce, in fact it was Villa fans who launched the cabbage at him.
Sky Sports News have spent more hours reporting on poor Steve Bruce than on the Big Six ESL attempted breakaway a few months ago.
Personal abuse must be stamped out from football, as should racism and all other unacceptable behaviour, I fully agree with that. But come on.. your coverage of this issue is abusive towards fans of Newcastle United. No other club would have kept Bruce following the many long runs without a win. Every fan of every club in every league have expectations and want to see good quality football, are NUFC fans not allowed at least to aspire to that.
If Bruce was so concerned about the health of his family and himself, should he not have resigned sooner? Apparently, the pay-off appeared to have been more important.
I live in Leeds and after the latest loss, fans gave the manager (Bielsa) and some of the players online abuse, some asking for change, that was not reported on Sky Sports News. Similarly with Man Utd and Ole and also the Glazers. Are Newcastle fans not equal to their fans?
Please start some positive reporting about Newcastle United, this is the start of a new era for them and their fans, it is not the end of the world. Steve Bruce has gone it was inevitable under any new owner, can we now listen to some positive, realistic, professional reporting now?
