Tony Cascarino having a laugh – Coming to the conclusion that Steve Bruce is the victim here…

Tony Cascarino is playing it for laughs.

The one-time glorious Mackem slayer (ask your dad /grandad…they could well have been there!) considering carefully the situation at St  James Park.

Then coming to the conclusion in all of this, that Steve Bruce is the victim!

Yes, after 27 months of earning millions for doing a really bad job, with most of the time some of the most negative football Newcastle fans have ever seen…

Tony Cascarino saying we should all feel sorry for Steve Bruce, that Bruce needs to remove himself from the ‘suffering’ he is experiencing, in helping to ruin Newcastle United.

It is quite incredible how Steve Bruce is treated by journalist / football mates compared to other managers, especially the ones from overseas. The worst career record of any Premier League manager ever (who has managed this number of games) and now doing the same at Newcastle, yet Bruce is the unlucky one!

Newcastle fans have watched on as Steve Bruce has won less than 19% of games in the last ten months, failing to win 30 of the last 37 Newcastle games played, currently second bottom of the Premier League with no wins in eight games (all competitions) and out of the League Cup.

Tony Cascarino says Newcastle fans don’t like Steve Bruce because he is ‘associated’ with Mike Ashley.

We have NEVER liked Steve Bruce.

Pretending to be a Newcastle fan and yet tears in his eyes when supposed to be a neutral on Sky Sports in October 1996 as his beloved Man Utd were demolished 5-0 by NUFC. He even claimed Newcastle wouldn’t have won if Man Utd had got a penalty (it wasn’t) at 1-0 down. Absolute nonsense, all Newcastle fans, neutrals and even every Man Utd fan (apart from Steve Bruce) accepted that NUFC battered them that day and only ever going to be one winner.

Newcastle fans don’t care that Bruce was manager of Sunderland BUT they do care about the embarrassing comments he made about Newcastle United when he was with the Mackems.

Steve Bruce then went on to declare Aston Villa were by far the best team in the Championship in 2016/17, far bigger than Newcastle.

Alan Shearer went public in saying he had warned and told Steve Bruce that he should definitely not go and work for Mike Ashley at Newcastle United.

I suppose at least we can agree with Tony Cascarino on one thing, Steve Bruce most definitely has to go!

Tony Cascarino speaking to Talksport:

“Steve Bruce earned a lot of money as a player and look, money isn’t the driving force, because he obviously loves being a manager…he has earned a lot of money as a manager as well.

“I know how much Newcastle means to him but there is a part of me and it isn’t my decision because it’s his life…it feels like you cannot win this battle at Newcastle United.

“You can’t win.

“Do you really need to suffer, to go through what you [Steve Bruce] are going through as a person?

“I think there is a real strain for Steve with this…

“I mean, I don’t know…I have not spoken to him personally about it.

“He has got a fanbase that don’t want the owner, that is quite clear.

“They don’t particularly like him because he is associated with the owner.

“They have [also] had bad results.

“I just think Steve

“Do you really need all that is getting thrown at you?

“You can argue…he loves to be a manager and doesn’t want to be seen as walking away, but again it’s not for me.

“I just want him to say ‘Do you know what, I can’t take this anymore’…

“You can say that it is the chicken way out…but it is not.”
