Nuno plays it for laughs when discussing how Tottenham won 3-2 against Newcastle United

Nuno watched on as his side strolled to an unbelievably easy victory at St James Park.

The final score was Newcastle 2 Tottenham 3 but that doesn’t tell you the true extent of the visitors’ superiority.

Callum Wilson scoring inside two minutes but that ending up as the only effort on target by a Newcastle player.

Tottenham should have had five or six goals before Dier scored a comedy own goal a minute from time, to give an unrealistic look to the final scoreline.

It was embarrassing how Steve Bruce had his side stand off the visitors and invite Tottenham to dominate. Making it far too easy for them.

Nuno playing it for laughs after the game when declaring ‘Newcastle are also a good team’ and especially the ‘good defenders’ his team faced, to explain why they didn’t score more goals.

In truth, Newcastle were really poor on the day after that excellent Wilson goal and with now 19 goals conceded in only eight Premier League games, NUFC have conceded three more than the next highest, Norwich.

So many problems under Steve Bruce but nowhere more so than his absolute cluelessness in tightening things at the back. In Rafa’s two PL seasons it was 47 and 48 goals conceded, under Steve Bruce 58 and 62, at the rate we are going this time, if Steve Bruce stays Newcastle are on course to concede 90 PL goals this time.

Nuno speaking after winning 3-2 at St James Park:

“We didn’t start very well.

“We expected Newcastle to come really strong [at the start of the match] and we weren’t able to sustain that – but we reacted very well.

“We knew we had to ignore the noise and do our job.

“We did not start well like I said – but did an amazing job after.

“I’m really proud of them.

“I would like to score more [goals] and the boys would also…but Newcastle are also a good team, good defenders.

“We prepared well and the result is here.”
