Next permanent Newcastle United Manager – Updated odds suggest they haven’t got a clue
What appears to be a unanimous consensus believes that Steve Bruce will very soon lose his job, leading to the question of who will be the new Newcastle United Manager.
The person given the job of starting to rebuild the football side under the new consortium, after so many years of neglect from the previous owner.
If Mike Ashley and Steve Bruce hadn’t overseen such a poor summer of preparation and disastrous results to start the season, there wouldn’t be quite the same urgency.
However, we are faced with what we are faced with and thankfully the most important thing is, we have new owners who we can trust to do everything they can to make the right appointment for all the right reasons.
Something that sounds pretty obvious at a normal football club BUT under Mike Ashley, Newcastle United was anything but a normal football club.
As for who the next Newcastle United Manager is, there are now new updated odds with yet another new favourite.
With the favourite having changed a number of times already, it says strongly that the bookies (and punters) haven’t got a clue who it is going to be.
The bookies keep changing the favourite to get people’s attention, tempting them to have a punt when seeing somebody new at the top.
Lucien Favre is the latest to be made favourite to be the next permanent Newcastle United manager.
Favre is ‘between jobs’ after sacked by Borussia Dortmund in December 2020, so he has that in his favour, plus he did decent but not outstanding job at Borussia Monchengladbach and Nice, before managing at Dortmund.
The Swiss manager is now the 2/1 favourite according to BetVictor but I think it is a situation where you could make a case for just about any of them on the list, as well as many others who aren’t. Personally, I don’t see Favre as a like choice.
It also must depend a lot on what kind of appointment the new NUFC owners want to make initially, how long-term they are looking with the first appointment.
Next Permanent Newcastle United Manager odds from BetVictor – Monday 11 October 2021:
Lucien Favre – 2/1
Antonio Conte – 5/1
Roberto Martinez – 7/1
Steven Gerrard – 10/1
Eddie Howe – 12/1
Graham Potter – 14/1
Brendan Rodgers – 16/1
Exciting times and intriguing to see what direction the new NUFC owners take us in, when it comes to the new manager.
