Newcastle United takeover isn’t about how much we can spend on players – It is about hope
This deal and Newcastle United takeover signifies hope.
Belief, a permission to dream again.
This isn’t about spending hundreds of millions on players, it is about creating a buzz, an atmosphere, an excitement that has been non-existent for over a decade.
A club that has been existing rather than aiming.
It now unites people, gives people a reason to believe.
The investment will not only be in the squad, the training facilities, the stadium, the infrastructure of the club, but also the local area, the community, the job opportunities this will create.
It allows people to have a reason to be proud once again of the club they support, the city they live in.
It isn’t about what COULD happen, it’s about saying goodbye to what HAS happened and being excited for the future.
Waving farewell to 14 years just trying to stay in the Premier League, a regime of false promises, no communication, no ambition, a shell of a football club, from undermining Kevin Keegan to Alan Shearer, from Dennis Wise to Joe Kinnear, from we expect too much to we want superstar signings, to we expect to be in Europe every season.
What we want is hope, we want a buzz, an atmosphere, an excitement, but more than anything, what we want is hope.
Hope. What we want is hope.
Newcastle United
