Newcastle United now in ‘very final hours of Mike Ashley ownership’ ahead of takeover – Very reliable source
Mike Ashley and a Newcastle United takeover was yet again back in the headlines on Wednesday afternoon.
Saudi Arabia have basically backed down, completely, agreeing to pay compensation to beIN Sports, committing to stopping all TV piracy within their borders, as well as also agreeing to ensuring the citizens of Saudi Arabia can all now access beIN Sports.
Naturally, this is because the Saudis are hoping to do other stuff and so strategically, it makes sense to them to back down so significantly on the beIN Sports / Qatar stuff.
Journalists who have consistently said they couldn’t ever see it (a Newcastle United takeover) happen if it included the Saudis…now suddenly indicating they have been briefed by informed sources as to this is very much going to now happen!
When it comes to journalists that Newcastle United fans trust, there is only one man who stands out way above the rest.
George Caulkin, previously of The Mag and The Times, now The Athletic, never gratuitously speculates about anything when it comes to Newcastle United.
Whether it is potential player signings, potential managers in or out, George doesn’t give false hope.
So, when the man from The Athletic now shares this, you take notice!
George Caulkin has now shared this on Wednesday 6 October 2021 via Twitter:
“There may not be anything official tonight (although you never know with this deal …), but it’s safe to say we’re now entering the final hours of Mike Ashley’s ownership of Newcastle United.
“It has been a frantic day.
“Lots to say on it but at this stage I want to wait until it’s official.”
Official? We cannot wait!
