Confirmed Newcastle team v Wolves – Joelinton, Manquillo, Fernandez all start
The Newcastle team v Wolves has just been confirmed.
Newcastle kicking off their match at Molineux at 3pm.
Steve Bruce and his team needing to bounce back from starting the season with a nightmare four defeats and three draws.
Ahead of today’s match, Steve Bruce gave an update on the injury and fitness / availability front on Friday.
Martin Dubravka is still out, following surgery for a broken metatarsal.
The same with Callum Wilson and his thigh problem though he is back in light training, whilst Jonjo Shelvey’s calf injury means he still won’t be available either.
Freddie Woodman and Paul Dummett remain out injured, whilst captain Jamaal Lascelles is also on the injured list.
The confirmed Newcastle team v Wolves:
Darlow, Manquillo, Fernandez, Clark, Ritchie, Hayden, Sean Longstaff, Almiron, Willock, Saint-Maximin, Joelinton
Why change a team that is not winning!
Newcastle did look better last weekend in terms of creating chances but that was against a very poor Watford, who they still couldn’t beat.
No doubt many Newcastle fans would like to see Gayle in the team as the only available striker, with Wilson out injured.
Gillespie, Schar, Lewis, Hendrick, Krafth, Murphy, Fraser, Gayle, Anderson
Also no change on the bench either, Anderson selected despite playing last night and scoring in the Under 23s 4-1 win over Middlesbrough.
