2 Newcastle United players have to be pulled apart in row – Steve Bruce position untenable

A new exclusive on Tuesday morning has revealed how two Newcastle United players had to be pulled apart after the defeat to Tottenham as the tensions inside the club rise to the surface.

Steve Bruce has overseen an abysmal start to the season, with now no wins in the first nine matches despite a generous set of fixtures to open the campaign.

With six defeats now and three draws, Newcastle United are already out of the League Cup and most concerningly second bottom of the Premier League and now facing a tough set of fixtures.

The exclusive from The Mail names Isaac Hayden and Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles as the two players who had to be pulled apart by staff ‘as anarchy descended following their defeat by Spurs.’

The newspaper says the Newcastle United players in question clashed in the tunnel, with ‘shoves exchanged’ as they went ‘head to head.’

The Mail say that there is a lot of unhappiness inside the squad, with many of the players desperate for the new owners to sack Steve Bruce as soon as possible, certainly before the next game at Crystal Palace on Saturday, players said to be in disbelief that the new ownership have allowed the Head Coach to continue.

The report says many of the Newcastle United players are so unhappy, they even expressed their unhappiness with Steve Bruce’s tactics in the dressing room after Sunday’s match.

The vast majority of the  50,000 Newcastle fans inside St James Park would also have been keen for the opportunity to make clear their disbelief at the tactics on Sunday…Callum Wilson with the only effort on target from a Newcastle player all match and very difficult to even understand where some players were supposed to be playing.

Everybody understands the problems that have been landed on the new owners, only getting the keys to St James Park a couple of months into the season and with a new manager desperately needed. Steve Bruce having this Newcastle squad deep in relegation trouble when they are capable of significantly better, Bruce should clearly have been sacked long before the new owners came in. The Head Coach’s record in now only a 18% winning ratio these past 38 games, only seven wins in those matches over the past ten months

However, they have had this massive issue dumped on them and now action is needed immediately, the absolute mess of tactics and set up on Sunday had been preceded by an absolutely embarrassing pre-match press conference. An unprofessional Steve Bruce calling for journalists to get a ‘slap’ off their bosses.

Even if it is Graeme Jones given a caretaker role, that at least would see the massive negative that is Steve Bruce removed from the equation before this game at Crystal Palace.
