Santiago Munoz is now ready to kick off his Newcastle United career.
The Mexican attacking player having agreed an initial 18 month contract, with the possibility of a permanent NUFC deal at the end of it in summer 2023.
The 19 year old will initially work with the Newcastle United Under 23 set-up.
ESPN Mexico report that Santiago Munoz flew into Madrid on 4 September and after 10 days quarantine has then been able to travel to the UK.
They add that Munoz had also been waiting for his work permit to be authorised and that now it’s expected early next week he will begin his NUFC adventure.
In an interview for ESPN Digital, on completing the agreement to sign for Newcastle United, Santiago Munoz said:
“I have to do my thing, trust me and my process has been fast.
“It’s 18 months but I’m going to enjoy it.
“This is a dream that I know is possible.
“I’m not under pressure, I have a different mentality, I’m calm.
“I have talked with people from Newcastle but this is not a pretext for not fighting for a place in the first team.”
