The Newcastle team v Watford has just been confirmed.

Newcastle kicking off their match at Vicarage Park at 3pm.

Steve Bruce and his team needing to bounce back from starting the season with a nightmare four defeats and two draws.

Ahead of today’s match, Steve Bruce gave an update on the injury and fitness / availability front on Friday.

Martin Dubravka is still out, following surgery for a broken metatarsal.

The same with Callum Wilson and his thigh problem, whilst Jonjo Shelvey’s calf injury means he still won’t be available either.

Freddie Woodman and Paul Dummett remain out injured, whilst the NUFC Head Coach brought us news that both Jamaal Lascelles and Joe Willock had been added to the injured list.

However, Joe Willock starts!

The confirmed Newcastle team v Watford:

Newcastle United:

Darlow, Manquillo, Fernandez, Clark, Ritchie, Hayden, Sean Longstaff, Almiron, Willock, Saint-Maximin, Joelinton

IN:

Fernandez

OUT:

Lascelles

So in total, just the one change to the team that started against Leeds.

Journalists are reporting that Joe Willock (who was pictured on social media wearing a protective boot this week) has told Steve Bruce he will ‘give it a go’ today.

However, plenty Newcastle fans will wonder if Bruce should not have been protecting the player from himself, if any risk of making his injury worse?

Subs:

Gillespie, Schar, Lewis, Hendrick, Krafth, Murphy, Fraser, Gayle, Anderson
