Saudi backed consortium still want Newcastle United Takeover – No matter what anybody tells you

Newcastle United Takeover, Fakeover…even a Mike Ashley Makeover. We all seem to have our own opinions on here as to the Saudi PIF, CAT and Arbitration.

After watching Laurel and Hardy yesterday, I couldn’t help but take in the significance of one of their famous lines…”Everything’s going swell.”

You see, everything was until a certain Gary Hoffman was appointed Chairman of the English Premier League in April last year.

This was around about the same time that PCP partners were informing NUFC supporters that there were “no red lights” regards the takeover. Hoffman officially took on his role and duties on the 1st June 2020. Instant red lights and as Billy Ocean would croon….they spelt danger.

It was the beginning of a Chuckle brothers “From me to you” scenario between Hoffman’s right-hand man Richard Masters and the Newcastle United Takeover consortia. For two months Masters casually informed the consortium that they would continually pooh-pooh their acquisition of Newcastle United on issues of separation between Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and the PIF. This was done by the EPL hiding behind their own ambiguous Owners and Directors test.

Throughout this period, on Qatari controlled broadcasters Bein Sports, we had Gary Hoffman’s best mate – Gorilla Mitts (Richard Keys) and his sidekick and fellow Newcastle United hater Harry Henderson Heed (Andy Gray) perpetually whinging and discrediting both the Saudi PIF and Newcastle supporters.

At the end of July 2020, everyone was exhausted and the Saudis began to feel humiliated by the seemingly deliberate actions of the EPL in stopping what should have been a normal business transaction, especially with their past record of doing business within the constraints of Great Britain and elsewhere abroad.

The Saudis pulled out of a Newcastle United Takeover and Amanda Staveley went public in criticising some of the so-called “Big 6” for being against the takeover because of jealousy…and even mentioned Liverpool and Tottenham by name. End of saga and story then?

Not quite…and I personally didn’t think it would be.

Here we are in August 2021 and still stuck under the wheels of this wretched Mike Ashley regime. Some of which is no doubt definitely self-inflicted. But no matter what anybody tells you, the consortium still want a Newcastle United Takeover.

This is where we see the little differences of opinion and irregular conflict amongst the good lads on here. Some have given up, some were pessimistic from the outset…and others like me still have their glasses half-full.

The only shred of light at the end of this seemingly endless dark tunnel is that hopefully this may, just may be, Mike Ashley’s last season as a wrecking ball of an owner of what was once such a proud club.
