Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.

Another Premier League home match and another goal for Callum Wilson (6.7).

Despite Steve Bruce’s negative tactics, the number nine did everything he could to lead Newcastle to victory, his excellent stooping header opening the scoring.

A big worry that he had to be subbed with a thigh injury, after scoring twice in three Premier League games so far, Newcastle desperately need this not to be bad injury. Last season saw 23 PL starts and 12 goals, NUFC looking to need more starts and more goals than that this season as the goals flow at the other end of the pitch.

Three other players scored 5.0 or higher.

Allan Saint-Maximin (6.2) rated second best by fans, yet again the only tactic to get United up the pitch was give it to ASM and he looked to have won it with his last minute goal, only to be denied due to events at the other end of the pitch.

Freddie Woodman (5.1) once again left exposed by those in front of him, no chance with the penalty, whilst saved from Elyounoussi but beaten by the rebound for the first goal.

Joe Willock (5.0) put in a decent shift, getting up and down the pitch.

Three Newcastle players picked out as particularly poor on the day.

Jamaal Lascelles (2.9) not showing up well and the second PL match in a row gave away a penalty, ranked very lowest by fans.

Matt Ritchie (3.4) really poor in defence yet again, ball watching as the first went in.

Whilst Miguel Almiron (3.9) suffering yet again in a bizarre role Steve Bruce is playing him in, taking away his attacking opportunities.
