In a late change, it has been announced that Newcastle United season ticket holders can travel to the West Ham match for free.

This applies to public transport throughout Tyne and Wear – including most buses, Metro, train and Shields ferry services.

The free travel applying for up to three hours before and three hours after the match on Sunday, kick-off 2pm.

Newcastle United season ticket holders will simply need to show their 2021/22 season ticket when getting on board.

This is in advance of the Magpie Mover becoming available for all matches from the second Premier League home game (Southampton – Saturday 28 August) onwards. Details of how to buy a Magpie Mover for the 2021/22 season to follow.

Newcastle United Official Announcement:

‘Newcastle United season ticket holders can travel for free on pubic transport to and from this weekend’s match at St. James’ Park ahead of Magpie Mover tickets going back on sale.

Steve Bruce’s side kick off the new 2021/22 Premier League season at home to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon, with kick-off at 2pm BST.

Supporters will simply need to show a valid 2021/22 season ticket on board public transport throughout Tyne and Wear – including most buses, Metro, train and Shields ferry services – to receive free transit up to three hours before and three hours after the match.

The offer is usually enjoyed by all Magpie Mover ticket holders, who benefit from a partnership between Newcastle United, Newcastle City Council and the region’s major transport organisations.

Magpie Mover tickets will be back on sale soon and further information will be issued on club channels in due course.’
