Newcastle United Official Announcement – Second NUFC outgoing loan confirmed
Newcastle United have now confirmed just their second outgoing loan player of the summer so far.
Whilst incoming signings, loan and permanent, have been non-existent, the loaning out of players has been almost as deathly quiet.
Ahead of today, only Lewis Cass had gone out to League Two Port Vale.
Last summer, by the time it got to a week before the Premier League season kicking off, five NUFC players had already joined loan clubs.
Today’s official announcement from Newcastle United brings news that 22 year old goalkeeper Jake Turner has now joined Colchester United, on an initial loan deal taking him up to January 2022.
Newcastle United Official Announcement:
‘Goalkeeper Jake Turner has joined League Two outfit Colchester United on loan for the remainder of the year.
The Wilmslow-born 22-year-old has linked up with Hayden Mullins’ U’s and will remain at the JobServe Community Stadium until Saturday, 1st January, 2022.
Turner, who began his career at Bolton Wanderers, completed a season-long loan to League Two side Morecambe last term, making his professional debut for the Shrimps before being recalled to the Magpies in January.
The England under-19 international joined United’s Academy in the summer of 2019 and has made 25 competitive appearances for Newcastle’s second-string during his two years on Tyneside.
Colchester, who finished 20th in League Two last term, kick off their 2021/22 campaign this afternoon away at Carlisle United.’
