Newcastle United are going to sack Steve Bruce soon – Honest verdict from pundit

Difficult to disagree with a lot of what Frank McAvennie says here.

That is apart from what he sees as the logical conclusion of what is now happening with Newcastle United.

Frank McAvennie totally confident that with Newcastle losing games and Steve Bruce coming out with a lot of ‘daft things’, that logical conclusion is that the NUFC Head Coach will imminently be sacked.

That would be the case at a normal club but…Newcastle United are anything but a normal club under Mike Ashley.

You only have to look at that horrific twenty one games run last season with only two wins, even then nobody seriously thought that Steve Bruce was going to be sacked, regardless of how shockingly bad a job he was doing.

A manager / head coach who is so completely out of his depth at Newcastle United.

Frank McAvennie ignoring or totally ignorant of the real truth, that like so many there before him, Mike Ashley hasn’t appointed Steve Bruce because he believes him to be a brilliant manager.

Instead, Ashley yet again looking for somebody so desperate for the job, somebody who knew no other Premier League club would touch him, somebody accepting he has no power at the club apart from training and picking the team and whose biggest role is doing and saying everything he is told by Mike Ashley and his minions. To stand/ sit there and come out with absolute nonsense press conference after press conference and take as much flak as possible, deflecting it away from the owner.

What an absolute mess.

Frank McAvennie talking to Football Insider:

“They [Newcastle United] are going to sack Steve Bruce soon after the latest events.

“It’s going to happen but that won’t change anything.

“There might be a change at the start [with a new manager / head coach].

“The club needs an overhaul.

“How many times has it been said?

Steve Bruce doesn’t help himself, does he?

“He’s under pressure, I get that, but he comes out with some daft things.

“That’s probably just him giving a bit back because he gets so much abuse.

“It’s been a really bad start for them and they need that first win to come soon.

“If they go into the international break with no points there will be hell on.”
