Bobby Clark sends public message to Newcastle United after dumping them for Liverpool
Thursday brought the news that Liverpool had signed Bobby Clark from Newcastle United.
In an official announcement on Thursday morning, Newcastle United revealing (see below) that the scousers had taken the club’s best young prospect.
The deal for the 16 year old had been rumoured for some time but now it become reality.
On making the move from Tyneside to Merseyside, Bobby Clark posted this message on social media to his (now) old club:
“Thank you to all the staff and my teammates at Newcastle United for an incredible 7 years and everything you’ve done to guide me to where I am today.
“You’ll always have a special place in my heart.”
Bobby Clark then posting another message, this time aimed at his new club and fans…:
“Over the moon to have signed with this great club Liverpool FC.
“Looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together! #YNWA “
So there you have it, under Mike Ashley our most promising young players now wanting to leave Newcastle United before any of us even get to see them playing in the first team.
The move is of course all the more shocking though, when taking into account that Bobby’s father is Lee Clark, one of Kevin Keegan’s ‘entertainers’ of the 1990s.
You can only assume that Bobby Clark has made the move on the advice of lifelong Newcastle United fan Lee.
Something which seriously points to problems at Newcastle when it comes to young homegrown players seeing their futures elsewhere.
Seeing how the Longstaff brothers have both been messed around by Mike Ashley and his minions can’t have helped, when it comes to the Clarks deciding Bobby Clark’s future, nor indeed any other promising young player coming through.
Mike Ashley repeatedly refusing to allow proper funding of the Academy, along with his overall refusal to allow investment in the infrastructure of the club, never mind realistic first team squad funding.
