West Ham confirm allocation – First away fans inside St James Park in 18 months
West Ham are first up for Newcastle United to kick off the 2021/22 Premier League season.
At 2pm on Sunday 15 August, the Hammers travel to Tyneside to take on the Magpies.
It will be the first time in 18 months where away fans will be in attendance for a competitive (***NUFC play Norwich in a friendly on 7 August but nothing I could find on the Canaries official site about any ticket allocation) match at St James Park.
The last one was when 2,000 Burnley fans ‘enjoyed’ a 0-0 draw on 29 February 2020 at St James Park.
West Ham have now revealed their allocation for the game in 18 days time, the Hammer receiving 3,000 tickets for the fixture.
Chelsea earlier today announced that all fans who want to enter Stamford Bridge in the coming season have to be either fully vaccinated or have had a negative virus test in the past 48 hours.
It remains to be seen whether Newcastle and the rest of the PL clubs follow this example.
Still nothing concrete so far from Government or the Premier League on exactly what rules will be in force in terms of virus restrictions and whether full capacity can indeed be utilised at all PL stadiums.
