This revamped Newcastle United Squad can push on – If following changes are made

First time writing for the Mag.

I live on the Isle of Man but with my mam’s dad having come from Newcastle, I chose to follow NUFC rather than follow the sheep here supporting Man U, Liverpool etc.

I have been to quite a few games with my younger brother and my son was even a mascot against Stoke City the season John Carver was in charge.

That’s the last time though I travelled to watch a game and I won’t be back any time soon without changes. It costs a fair bit to come up for the weekend, so whilst Ashley and Bruce are about, I will give it a miss.

I don’t mind spending the cash to go and support the team when there is hope. Just Mike and his merry men have sucked the enjoyment out of supporting the Toon.

Anyway, I just don’t understand the lack of Newcastle United transfer activity this summer. There are bargains and free transfers to be had. Even with a limited budget there are wheelings and dealings to be done.

Obviously I would say sign Messi etc if it was logical…but under the current regime I have put together a Newcastle United squad for next season that I don’t feel is too far-fetched.

You might disagree with some of the fees but I’m sure you will understand what I am getting at.

Sticking to the 3-5-2 system used at the end of last season, I have put together what I believe would be a big improvement with no / little net spend.

Sell

Joelinton – £15m Back to Hoffenheim, I’m sure they would be happy with a profit of £25m

Darlow – £7m

Krafth – £3m

Ritchie – £3m

Funds in £28m + £12m to spend from the powers that be, gives us about £40m.

Buy/Frees

Bertrand – Free

Clyne – Free

Willock – Loan £5m (Option to buy for £20m/£25m)

Ward-Prose – £15m + Shelvey

A Morelos – £10m + Muto

A Armstrong – £10m + Gayle

Total spent £40m

The revamped 25 man Newcastle United Squad (haven’t included any youngsters):

GK

Dubravka, Woodman, Gillespie

CB

Lejeune, Schar, Dummett, Clark, Lascelles, Fernandez

LWB

Bertrand, Lewis

RWB

Murphy, Clyne, Manquillo

MID

Hayden, Sean Longstaff, Matty Longstaff, Almiron, Willock, Ward-Prowse

FWD

Wilson, ASM, Armstrong, Morelos, Fraser

I feel with this Newcastle United squad we could push on and finish much higher up the table without spending too much money and getting rid of some of the deadweight.

I know the CBs are not youngsters but I think the six of them are fine at least for another season.

Thanks for reading.
