Newcastle United Official Statement – Arbitration seriously delayed on NUFC takeover
A Newcastle United official statement released on Monday night.
The statement (see below) revealing a delay to the NUFC arbitration process.
The Premier League case set to be heard this month but the very brief statement declaring: ‘The main hearing of the arbitration has regrettably now been adjourned until early 2022 due to issues with the disclosure of evidence.’
Some media reports have said that this six months minimum push back came about after both parties accepted the delay.
Whatever the truth of it, it is extraordinary that here we are now as Newcastle United fans, with at the soonest seemingly, it will be 2022 before we stand any chance of clarity in what has happened and indeed…what is going to happen, if anything.
This Newcastle United Takeover saga now set to move into at least a third year, with talks between Mike Ashley / his people and the Saudi financed consortium having started back in 2019.
Newcastle United Official Statement – 19 July 2021:
‘The parties attended a hearing today in the case between Newcastle United and the Premier League.
The main hearing of the arbitration has regrettably now been adjourned until early 2022 due to issues with the disclosure of evidence.
The parties will be making no further comment at this time.’
